Sazerac on the Prairie (2/18)

Sazerac on the Prairie PosterJoin us at Coteau des Prairies Lodge for a one-of-a-kind dining experience on February 18th, 2016. We are thrilled to announce ‘Sazerac on the Prairie’, a six course dinner featuring New Orleans inspired southern cuisine with live music by Dan Brekke. This is a unique opportunity to preview the menu of a soon-to-be opened premiere downtown Fargo restaurant called Sazerac Alley. Executive Chef/Co-Owner Christian D’Agostino will introduce our guests to the foods which will be served by his establishment in the spring when Sazerac Alley opens its door to the public.

As the Mardi Gras parades pass through the streets of New Orleans, an often overlooked food Mecca, make plans to join us among the snow drifts of the north to celebrate the lively flavors of the southeast. Chef D’Agostino has prepared a special menu just for this event and he will be introducing each course and giving us an education on ‘Sazerac’ cuisine.

Dan Brekke of Moorhead, a master of vocals, guitar and fiddle will be preforming music all night to accompany the festive dishes served from the kitchen. Don’t miss Dan’s amazing fiddle, which we can’t wait to hear again at the lodge!

Guests will also enjoy a special course featuring our 28 Day Dry Aged Breker Beef tenderloin. We can’t wait to try it ‘Sazerac’ style!

About the Chef

Chef Christian D’Agostino has been influential in the Fargo-Moorhead dining scene for several years, but his experience began at age 13 as a dishwasher at an Italian restaurant up through chef positions at multiple restaurants and his experience as Executive Chef on a cruise line where he learned culinary skills from literally around the globe. Christian’s formal training comes from The Culinary Institute of America, Hyde Park, NY. Christian served as Executive Chef at Sarello’s for a number of years as he oversaw the rennaisance of fine dining in Fargo-Moorhead. In 2009, Chef Christian, along with his business parter Dan Hurder, took ownership of Monte’s Downtown restaurant followed by the successful launch of The Boiler Room and Barbacoa. Monte’s was recently closed to make room for the new New Orleans inspired concept known as ‘Sazerac Alley’.
