Steakhouse Wine Dinner (10/18)

Join us Wednesday, October 18th for our Steakhouse Wine Dinner, a wine pairing dinner featuring the culinary talent of Chef Saskia Reasoner from The Boiler Room in Wahpeton.

This is a ‘classic steakhouse’ dinner with expert wine selections by our friend Laura Botten from Johnson Brothers. Laura will be introducing the wine pairing with each course.

Chef Saskia is making her debut at the lodge as a guest chef and we are excited to showcase her expertise in our kitchen!

About the Chef

Saskia (SAH-ski-uh) Reasoner fell in love with the restaurant industry at her first job – she was 14 years old and hired as a server at Stroud’s in Manhattan, KS. Saskia worked there for a year as a server before transferring into the kitchen. At 16 Saskia took a new job at Early Edition restaurant, which was one of the busiest breakfast/brunch spots in Manhattan, and where she would spend the next several years. At 19 Saskia was given the opportunity to move to Little Apple Brewing Company, where she stayed for the next four years. From there, Saskia and her husband Matt bounced around for a while as he was in the Army, and then they finally decided to make Wahpeton, ND their home in 2011. It was at this point that both she and Matt attended North Dakota State College of Science to earn a A.A.S. in Culinary Arts and Business Management. They graduated in 2014, and finally made our restaurant dream a reality this year.

Saskia was born and raised in Karlsruhe, Germany. Both of her parents are German citizens. She has three sisters and one brother, has been married to her husband Matt (GM of Boiler Room Wahpeton) for 10 years, and they have three sons together. When Saskia was 10 years old her family moved to Manhattan, Kansas. She attended Manhattan High School and then Manhattan Area Technical College for a year for Automotive Mechanics before she discovered her love for the kitchen.
