Are you wondering what is Logging Camp Ranch and why is it on this map? Good question. It is the coolest working ranch in North Dakota. John Hanson and his family raise cattle and horses in the Badlands along the Little Missouri River on this ranch. It just so happens, the Logging Camp Ranch is located in a large native ponderosa pine forest, the only one in North Dakota. What does that have to do with anything? Well, guess where we got the ponderosa pine logs to build Coteau des Prairies Lodge? You guessed it, we got them from the Badlands in our own great state just 6 1/2 hours away at Logging Camp Ranch.
