Spring Beer Dinner (5/28)

Brau Beer Dinner PosterWe are hosting a unique beer dinner on the evening of Thursday, May 28th. We are featuring five amazing craft beers from Brau Brothers Brewing Company (Marshall, MN) paired with a five course dinner designed and prepared by Executive Chef Jeff Anderson from The Lowry (Minneapolis, MN). Dustin Brau, President and Head Brewer of Brau Brothers will also be joining us for the evening.

At our Spring Beer Dinner, you will experience a ‘one night only’ menu complete with brewery stories and expert pairings. Dustin Brau will introduce each of his beers and tell us all about his experience as a pioneer in the regional craft beer scene. Chef Jeff Anderson will describe the pairings as each course is served.

Brau Brothers will be bringing a firkin (cask) of bacon infused Bancreagie for the dinner. This is a one-off, cask conditioned beer that you will probably never see again. If you ever, in your life, want to have some bacon infused Bancreagie…this is your chance.

In addition, we will be featuring our exclusive 28 Day Dry-Aged Breker Beef. Our unique 28 day dry-aging process produces a more tender, more juicy, more flavorful and more aromatic beef product. The process was developed by Coteau des Prairies Lodge in collaboration with a local butcher who processes the beef. Of course, we begin by selecting our beef from the very best animals raised and finished on the Joe Breker and Jeff Breker farms.

About the Brewery:

Brau Brothers Brewing Company, founded in 2006, was one of the first rural craft breweries in the midwest. They recently moved their operations from the small town of Lucan, MN (population 220) to nearby Marshall. One thing that makes Brau Brothers unique is their history of sourcing local products for their beers to support area agriculture. They even raise their own barley and hops for some of their beers.

According to Dustin Brau: “We believe that when breweries take responsibility for their beer, from grain to glass, not only is the quality better, but we begin to produce unique, fun beers distinct to region. We believe that no town or region should be without a local brewery, regardless of size.”

Fun Fact: Brau Brothers Brewing Company is located in Marshall, MN along the foothills of the Coteau des Prairies, the same geologic formation which comes to an abrupt end here at Coteau des Prairies Lodge. In Minnesota, the Coteau des Prairies is known to locals as the Buffalo Ridge.

About the Chef:

Jeff Anderson is Executive Chef at The Lowry in Minneapolis, MN. His amazing ‘cooking from scratch’ style has earned him quite the following. At The Lowry, Jeff makes everything in house and that will be the case for our Spring Beer Dinner. Everything on the menu is made fresh just for the event. In addition, many menu items will be sourced ultra locally. As you will see, Chef Jeff is gifted at crafting menus and he is currently consulting with The Lowry’s parent company Blue Plate to update other restaurant menus around the Twin Cities. This will be Jeff’s second beer dinner at the lodge. Jeff will present each food course as it is served and describe the food/beer pairing.
