On Tuesday, September 11th, 2018, we are hosting Prairie Brothers Brewing Company (Fargo) at our Fall Beer Dinner! Prairie Brothers Founder Don Kenna will be introducing his beers. Guest Chef Andrea Baumgardner from BernBaum’s (Fargo) is planning a five course pairing menu, which will be amazing!
We welcome the return of a pair of homebrewing experts – Toam Roan and Nancy Bowser from Fargo – who will once again be sharing their brewing talents during the event and demonstrating how to make beer at home. They will be using local malts and hops in the brew. This your chance to get to know some seasoned home brewing pros!
1 – Chill Pilz – house-made pretzels with chicken liver mousse, speck, liptauer cheese + pickles
2 – Haze It IPA – rosti, smoked beet + lox, horseradish creme fraiche, paddlefish caviar
3 – Brothers Kettle Sour – red cabbage, poached pear, walnut + oat crumble, lingonberries, beer vinaigrette
4 – Blender Bender Prairie Red Ale – wild rice spaetzle, corn pudding, roast duck, huckleberry + wild blueberry gastrique
5 – Coco Boingo Chocolate Milk Stout – dobostorte: caramel cream torte, chocolate ganache
About the Brewery
Prairie Brothers Brewing Company answered the call for a great craft brewery in South Fargo. Just off 45th St south of I-94 you’ll find this new-to-the-scene brewhouse/taproom serving up some of the best local micro brews you’ll find. Don Kenna started Prairie Brothers in 2015 following a stint as a passionate home brewer. Prairie Brothers is the community of northern plains people. To help each other survive the harsh climate in which we live, we need to be more than friends; we need to be family. This isn’t just about where we live, but about how we survive. It is our way of life, and nothing helps us stay connected better than friendship, family and beer!
About the Chef
Andrea Baumgardner trained and cooked on the west coast (San Francisco and Los Angeles) before returning to be The Hotel Donaldson’s opening executive chef. She was the chef and co-owner of Green Market for 6 1/2 years and is currently a chef and co-owner of BernBaum’s, both in downtown Fargo.
Paul Perez is a seasoned and talented veteran of fine dining kitchens in Minneapolis and Fargo. He is currently a chef at BernBaum’s.
The event is on Tuesday, September 11th at Coteau des Prairies Lodge. Everyone is welcome, but space is limited and meals are available by reservation only. Alcohol will be served only to those over 21 years of age. The price is $75 per person. The meal includes a gourmet four course meal and 5oz. of beer served with each course. Water and coffee will be provided. Sodas and additional alcoholic beverages will be sold at the bar. Doors open at 5pm, guests are welcome to come early, tour the lodge and enjoy refreshments served at the bar. When you arrive at the lodge, sign your party in with our hostess. Guests will be seated for the meal promptly at 6pm.
