This is a treat for North Dakotans (and friends of North Dakota). Not only will the chefs highlight foods we all love, but they are showcasing premium local wines from Bear Creek, one of the few North Dakotan wineries specializing in dry wines produced from North Dakota grown grapes. These wines are outstanding and they are produced in limited quantity. If you love North Dakota, you owe it to yourself to come out for this one-of-a-kind dinner.

About the Winery

Founded as a family business in 2003 by Rod and Sue Ballinger, Bear Creek located in south Fargo is one of the original wineries in the Red River Valley. They specialize in dry blends, both red and white using cold climate hardy grapes that can survive our harsh Northern winters. After years of experimentation, they have chosen grapes varieties that are best suited to the wine styles we make. Their grape varieties include Petite Pearl, Crimson Pearl, Verona, Frontenac, Itasca, La Crescent, Frontenac Gris, and Marquette. Their hope is to promote innovative viticulture and wine making techniques that involve traditional methods to enhance all aspects of the industry. Visit their website at bearcreeknd.com.

Tony and Sarah Nasello

About the Chefs

For the past 20 years, Tony and Sarah Nasello have been entertaining folks throughout the region with their passion for food, wine, Italy and North Dakota. After working together aboard luxury cruise ships throughout the 1990s, Tony and Sarah returned to Fargo, Sarah’s hometown, in 2000 to open their restaurant, Sarello’s, and start a family. They welcomed their son, Giovanni, in 2004, and operated Sarello’s until 2015. Today, Tony is the general manager of the Hotel Donaldson, and Sarah develops recipes and writes a weekly food column for The Forum. In the summer of 2012, the Nasellos embarked on a legendary family experience called Lost on the Prairie, during which they spent every weekend from Memorial Day through Labor Day visiting a new place in North Dakota and blogging about it. This experience led to more great North Dakota adventures, including cooking for Banquet in a Field and at the Coteau des Prairies Lodge. This summer, the Nasellos will be visiting Tony’s family in Sicily, and they look forward to coming back to the Lodge soon with an authentic Sicilian menu.

Join us for a beautiful evening on the prairie!
